A very clean and handsome Cavalry Carbine being half stocked with a heavy round barrel with a top flat and a rib underneath.
The steelwork is smooth and nicely browned and the barrel is stamped with various marks relating to the Jaipur Arsenal in India.
The lock is free of any markings and has a double line engraved border.
The mainspring is smooth and the action is crisp in half and full position.
It is fitted with a fixed rear and leaf foresight and its leather sling is still attached.
The stock is well stamped and has an attractive patch box with a spring lid.
In fact the overall finish is one of quality with the steel fittings, nice walnut stock and intricate sights all giving a feeling of a "cut above the norm".
A cracking Indian Military piece with some interesting markings.
Barrel length 65cm, Overall length 104cm.
