Jamul
Description:
Blues Rock masterpiece! The only release by the San Diego blues rock band Jamul is now available on CD for the first time in the world! (Originally released in 1970) This is the only album by the four-piece formed in the city of "Jamul" (pronounced "hamul" in Spanish) in San Diego, California. The release is on the Lizard label, established in LA by Gabriel Meckler, producer for Steppenwolf and Three Dog Night. The album is a spitting, sweat-drenched, physical hard rock produced by electric guitars with solid riffs that roar at high volume, and a heavy rhythm section that resonates with a heavy thud. The band's style, which thoroughly pursued groove, heralded the birth of a new American rock music, which was shared with Grand Funk, which appeared at the same time (debuted in 1969). Of the 11 songs on the album, eight are original compositions by the band members and the remaining three are covers. Tobacco Road" is well known in the old Nashville Teens, and Spooky Tooth's famous performance is also impressive.Long Tall Sally," which made rock history with Paul McCartney's brilliant shouts, features harmonica and is much bluesier. The Stones' "Jumpin' Jack Flash," with its muddy arrangement, is also a treat.
