Description:
In 1764, Johann Christian Bach and Mozart (8 years old at the time) met in London, and despite the age difference of 21 years, they developed a friendship and mutual respect. The boy Mozart was greatly influenced by Christian Bach's music, and it is said that Mozart's music would not have been born without this encounter. In this program, we will enjoy harpsichord performances of two fine sonatas by J.C. Bach, a small piece by the 8-year-old Mozart, and a sonata written by the young Mozart, who established his own style. It is also a pleasure to listen to these pieces while imagining the musical situation in Europe from the 1760s to the 1970s, when the harpsichord and fortepiano were both in use. This is an album full of high quality and intellectual playfulness. Wakabayashi Studio
