- MIPS System: Leading technology in low-friction movement inside the helmet, designed to reduce rotational forces that can result from certain impacts. When a head rotates quickly and comes to a sudden stop, rotational acceleration can cause high levels of strain on brain tissue. The stretching of tissue caused by these movements can lead to various types of brain injuries. We believe helmets equipped with MIPS technology can add an extra level of protection against certain types of impacts. MIPS uses a low-friction layer that moves inside the helmet, mimicking the brain’s own protection system. This layer is designed to rotate inside the helmet with the intent to potentially slow down or reduce the amount of energy transferred to or from the head.
